The 45-mile Jordan River Trail is a popular multi-use path that attracts walkers, runners, bikers, and skaters. Many visitors enjoy relaxing in shady spots, watching birds, or fishing from the pedestrian bridges that span the river. Activities like kayaking, paddleboarding, and canoeing are also gaining popularity among outdoor enthusiasts. Along this 7-mile stretch, over10 public parks provide essential amenities for users, making it easy to take a break. While many people appreciate the active lifestyle fostered by the Jordan River, there are still others who have yet to explore its recreational opportunities.

Numerous institutions and destinations sit adjacent to the Jordan River including the Utah Cultural Celebration Center and the Tracy Aviary Nature Center at Pia Okwai.  Destination along the river draw people to use the public space along it's banks, and can provide public programming and education.
